Custom Built-In

Welcome to the Smoke and Gold Project!  Our clients envisioned a space that could serve both as a functional work-from-home office and a stylish dining area for entertaining guests. The challenge was to create a design that allowed the room to effortlessly transition between these two uses, while maintaining a cohesive and elegant aesthetic. Our solution? A seamless design that marries function and form.

After collaborating closely with our clients through various design iterations, we arrived at the stunning result you see today. The centerpiece of the room is a versatile built-in that transitions from a functional work-from-home space to an elegant dining area. With the desk removed, the room is instantly ready for hosting, while the built-in transforms into a beautiful buffet sideboard.

End towers provide discreet storage, while the central bookcases allow for the display of personal treasures and décor. To infuse a touch of coastal charm, we incorporated a sleek shadow gap shiplap feature on the open wall between the cabinetry. The lower section offers additional hidden storage and an open area for a desk chair, balancing beauty and practicality.

To elevate the design, our clients selected Benjamin Moore's “Smoke” for the cabinetry and shiplap, accented by a pop of gold in the decorative picture light and hardware. The white quartz countertop seamlessly ties the look together, providing a sophisticated and timeless finish.

At Heritage, we pride ourselves on creating spaces that exceed expectations. This project beautifully showcases the combination of form, function, and design detail we strive for in every build.
